Serving patients and protecting citizens' health have always been considered our prime responsibility since Keelung Municipal Hospital was founded. However in recent years, owing to the uncertainty of health insurance policy and keen competition in medical industry, all public hospitals have met with hardship. Besides success in both operation and social service, Keelung Municipal Hospital was accredited as “Regional Hospital” through New Hospital Accreditation in 2007, which shows, though encountered with competitive medical market, we are able to improve and gain recognition and to provide high-quality service for citizens is our current purpose and the goal we expect to achieve.

Keelung Municipal Hospital is a regional hospital where there are two main sections including Hospital Headquarters (Administration Building) and Clinic Department. To meet social needs, staff in Administration Building is dedicated to long-term care business development, hospitalization plan, and service for long-term care cases (such as nursing home, home care service, and day care service). All kinds of diagnoses, treatments, and health checkups are respectively provided in Clinic Department. By virtue of Superintendent Yao-Kuo Chiang's (江耀國) leading in an innovative way, since 2002, Keelung Municipal Hospital has held “Conference on Serving Citizens” under government’s support. To ensure service quality, at regular conferences we put a premium on various advanced trainings inclusive of environmental sanitation, phone courtesy and so on. In addition to carrying out family health checkups in cooperation with government, we are developing more multiple tests for health checkups in order to fulfill the responsibility as regional hospital. “Citizens The First, Community Medicine The Foremost” is Keelung Municipal Hospital’s service philosophy.

Signature Innovative Services

Cosmetology: Given current fashion trends, noble, professional, and personal service is provided for citizens pursuing beauty. And in cooperation with government, we implement medical tourism in this field to serve more people.

Weight-losing Clinic: Essential, healthy, and save way, we help citizens lose weight, keep in shape, and stay away from illness.

Rehabilitation Center: High-quality and professional rehabilitation service is provided. And, personal exercise guide is mainly emphasized.

Long-term Care System

Nursing Home: Homelike and personal care service is provided. With staff’s commitment, Keelung Municipal Hospital is officially accredited as “Excellent” and as “Educational Institution” by Department of Health, Executive Yuan, and is, furthermore, publicly recognized.

Dementia Care Home: This is the first public dementia care home in Keelung. More professional care service is provided for specific cases in need.

Home Care: This excellent accredited service has been carried out since 1998. And it is not only provided in Keelung but throughout Taipei-Keelung metropolitan area. The cases of whom we are taking care give us credit for regular visits in person, and so do other service institutions. We also aim to update the medical environment and to represent a great image.

Day Care: Kindergarten for seniors is a comfortable, save, lively, and respectful place where seniors could temporarily stay when their children are working. With the service, seniors could enjoy their lives and their children could concentrate on their work. And in this way, a harmonious society could be created.

Various Health Checkups

Family Health Checkup: In cooperation with government and each boroughs, family health checkups and screenings are held in community.

Regular Free Health Checkups: Development on multiple tests for health checkup is in process. Citizens are welcome to having free checkups in our hospital. According to the checkup results, people in need would be referred as soon as possible. Maintaining community health is our responsibility.

Development on Multiple Services

One-step Service Counters: People could apply for all kinds of services at each single counter without waiting for long. Wireless call system is installed to show the number of waiting people.

Writing Desks with Chairs: On writing desks are stationery, sample forms, and pairs of reading glasses. Staffs and volunteers around would guide and facilitate applications.

Special Service Bell: Bells set at doors are provided for the mobility-impaired to call volunteers for help. Volunteers work in shifts to continue this service.

Free Diagnosis at Qing-An Temple (慶安宮): For the purpose of performing community service in the neighborhood, free Diagnosis, medical consulting, and medical educational lectures are regularly held at the temple.
